Calling all BRATS!  Awards night: 29 November 2014

The Awards Night will soon be upon us, and preparations are slowly beginning to shape.   We need a small team of volunteers to help us to run the event to ensure that it is a success and to build on the growth of this event in recent years .  If you can help in any way then please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Even if you are unable to help, we very much hope that you have this night blocked off in your calendars.  It is the climax of the Club’s social calendar and the one opportunity for the whole club to celebrate each other’s achievements from the year past.  We look forward to welcoming you to the Bournbrook and Sellyoak Social Club!!!

If anyone has photos or stories to share of any BRAT events or personal achievements during the year which you would like to be shown on the big screens on the night or incorporated into the next edition of BRAT News, please submit these to the BRAT News team via:

For the night to be a success, we need to get going, so please if you can give us some of your time to help with this, it would be greatly appreciated!

Tona Walder and Mike Purnell, BRAT triathletes, athletes and volunteers extraordinaire, announced their engagement while competing at yet another European triathlon recently.  It was big news at the BRAT Junior Aquathlon today, where both could be found hard at work volunteering as usual.  Many congratulations to you both!

Dear BRATs, please visit http://tinyurl.com/naykx39 to vote for our lifetime BRAT member and active BRAT supporter Chrissie Wellington! We have an opportunity to influence and put our mark on the new University of Birmingham Sports Centre!  There is an open competition to name the new centre after one of 3 sporting greats and alumni of the University of Birmingham: Ellie Symmons, Gladstone Small or Chrissie Wellington.  For all BRATs, the choice should be obvious.  Please vote now!
