| BRAT Birmingham Triathlon Success! |
|
The BRAT Birmingham Triathlon commended by competitors and officials alike! The compliments were flowing after the inaugural BRAT Birmingham Triathlon Event launched successfully on Sunday 29th May, and it has even been covered in the local news. Visit the results section for all Results.
The UK’s top triathlon club teamed up with 3D Tri Events to host the inaugural Birmingham Triathlon on 29 May 2011 – and gave Brum a long overdue place on the national triathlon calendar. Both super sprint and sprint events were held at the picturesque West Midlands Water Ski Centrer just a few miles north of Birmingham city centre. The WMWSC (Dave and Richard) was praised as one of the best race venues in the UK, with superb water quality and a spectator friendly club house. The bike was rolling and safe, with fast times being recorded despite a strong wind on the day. Transition was clearly laid out and the off road run course was again spectator friendly, with a short but challenging climb onto Pike's Ridge and a fast finish. Mark Hirsch and Zam Williamson were the fastest sprint triathletes of the day, and now have course records to their names. Visit the results section for all Results. All officials (race referee Sarah Taylor, race coordinator Duncan Hough), Karl (Tri-A-Sport), Stu, Dave and Dan, and all volunteers were particularly commended. Now everyone is looking forward to the Olympic and Sprint distance events in September.
