BRAT Ladies out in force in home turf Half Marathon!

Sunday saw thousands of eager runners travel to Birmingham for the 2016 half marathon, along with plenty of BRAT ladies taking to a home turf course, producing some tremendous results.

Two BRAT ladies were inside that 90 minute mark, Jen Dale achieved a course PB for the 8th year in a row with a speedy 1.27.37 closely followed by Daisy Wilson with a huge personal best time of 1.28.04. A flurry of BRATs followed taking on the hill and greeted with great times at the finish; Alex Mold 1.32.58, Melanie James 1.40.05, Tona Purnell 1.45.56, Annie Stride 1.47.53, Claire Scanlon 1.50.38, Karen Riley 1.50.59, Fiona Howroyd 1.54.18, Helena Markall 2.02.15, Anna Wilkinson 2.06.53, Isobel Deeley 2.07.34, Hannah Ludford 2.09.32, Louise Dawes, 2.10.28, Alison Huggan 2.21.08 and a big shout out goes to Tanya Daniels who took on the challenge of pacing duties to help her sister to a sub 2.30 debut half marathon – she did a sterling job with them clocking 2.27.51!

Well done also to Helena Eastham, Molly Browne and Louise Beasley who gave up their time to be official pacemakers, helping other runners to achieve their goals.

A massive well done to all above, and any other BRATs who ran (who sneakily didn’t put BRAT down on their entries, apologies – results were from the official website via BRAT club search)! It certainly was a very challenging course. There was plenty of BRAT support on the day, so thank you to everyone who cheered and handed out water. I am sure a lot of you will be back for another year in 2017 donning your BRAT vests with pride, in the mean time there’s plenty of cross country events to keep you busy!
