Dynamic Duo Do the Double!

What's better than running one marathon at the weekend? Running two! At least, that's what Cass and Rhys say. The first event on Saturday was the Malvern Midsummer Marathon which was as hilly as it sounds with over 4000 feet of ascent, and rumoured to be over 4000 different kind of sweet and savoury snacks to try en route. In their second outing on Sunday the crazy pair of trainer clad adventurers were treated to 4 laps through the streets of Shrewsbury town centre, which it turns out isn't flat.

First time double marathoner Rhys says 'If running two marathons is one weekend is wrong, then I don't want to be right!'. (Cass thinks, 'It can't be wrong, because I am always right'. ~ Ed)

C is For Cake

What better reason to get out of bed early on a Sunday morning, than to enjoy some time in the saddle in pursuit of cake. Last Sunday's C ride (expertly led by Andy Stowe) included a super stop at Dynamic Rides in Hockley Heath for some welcome refreshments of coffee, cake and other sweet treats. The riders definately earnt their crumbs after peddling hard for 40 miles in the glorious summer sunshine.

Cass Chisholm and Rhys Pippard, covered in Body Glide and factor 50 sunblock respectively, ran the Northamptonshire Shires and Spires 35mile ultramarathon. A beautiful back drop, warm dry conditions and feed stations with great cake (which reportedly contained a secret ingredient especially for ultra runners) meant that both runners pb'd at the distance finishing in 6 hours 11. Rhys also pb'd in the sheer volume of food he managed to consume during a race. All in all a great day out.
