BRATs Ride in Style: the UHB ICU Charity Bike Ride

The country lanes of Warwickshire saw summer arrive in style on May Bank Holiday Monday: Shades were on, arm warmers were off and legs were out for the squad of BRAT riders taking part in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital charity bike ride in aid of for the Intensive Care Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

The pack set off on the 60-mile route closely and expertly controlled by Ann-Marie Two-Whistles amid bright sunshine and blue skies. The event has been heralded as a fantastic day, thanks to a combination of a great route, good group riding organisation, everyone (almost, not mentioning names Daisy and Hannah!) decked out their in BRAT kit, and a fantastic BBQ at the end. Thanks to everyone who took part for helping to raise over £2000 for such a good cause. Thanks too to Tess Oelofse for organising the BRAT contingent to take part.

If you’d like to know more about this ride or donate to the cause, please visit http://www.justgiving.com/ICUBike2013, or look out for the extended report on this event (which includes further details on the burgers, wee stops and other comedy moments) in the next edition of BRAT news!
