Lima has misfortune at England Senior Championships

Having been racing across 3 continents this summer, David Lima finally returned to our shores to compete at the England Senior Championships at Bedford on July 30th/31st.

In what was a very busy weekend, David warmed up for his 200m races on Sunday, by entering the 100m on Saturday and was just shy of his PB  finishing 3rd in his heat in 10.44s and 4th in the semi-final in 10.33s, and so just missed out on a place in the final.

In  the 200m, David cruised through his heat in 20.86s in 2nd place and similarly in the semi-final in 20.85s, but had the misfortune to roll over on his ankle on the bend and as a precaution he withdrew from the final, when a podium place was surely his.

The club look forward to welcoming him back for the final league match next Saturday, August 6th at Cheltenham.
