Indoor Round Up

Competing in the national Indoor U20 championships at Sheffield on February 13th , Jonathan Briggs, our star hammer and discus thrower, came 6th in his weakest event, the Shot, with a Putt of 13.20m, just short of his PB.

In his build up for possible Olympic Games selection, David Lima has been in sparkling form recently setting indoor PBs for both 60m in 6.81s and 200m in 21.01s at an international meeting on February 6th in Finland. If the track hadn’t been oversize the 200m would have been a Portuguese indoor record! He followed this up at the British Indoor Championships on February 27/28th, with another PB in the 60m with 6.77s coming second in his heat and 6.78s finishing 3rd in the semi final, just missing out on a place in the final. However in his favoured event the 200m , having finished 2nd in his heat in 21.20s, he stormed to a great 3rd place in the final in 21.35s.

David’s indoor season comes to an end next weekend when he competes in the Portuguese club championships. The BRAT club wishes David  all the best in his quest to realise his Olympic dream.
